As a key driving force behind both social and personal development, education is one of the main pillars of the Onassis Foundation's public-benefit activities. The Foundation has been supporting the right to equal access to Education, Health and Culture for decades now; its ultimate goal being to release the potential of those who want to get ahead in their careers, to distinguish themselves in their chosen field, to pursue their dream. Our firm focus is the reward of excellence.

In this context, the Onassis Foundation, for the past 40 years, has been standing behind young scientists, researchers and artists, always putting Education at the forefront of its actions, aiming at the broader social good. Therefore, true to its leading role in the field of education scholarships, since 1978, the Onassis Foundation is launching the new Scholarship Programme for Hellenes and Foreigners for 2018-2019.

The Program of Scholarships for Hellenes offers scholarships for full-time studies in countries worldwide at a Postgraduate and Doctoral level in various scientific and artistic fields of study and for full-time studies in Greece at a Doctoral level in specific fields of study.

The Program of Scholarships for Foreigners offers scholarships for research related to Greek culture, Greek economy and society to university professors of all academic ranks, PhD researchers and PhD candidates.

Through its charitable work in Education, the Onassis Foundation is continuously broadening its fields of activity, seeking new paths that promote innovation, support research and lay the groundwork for a more optimistic future.

Such actions include: educational programs across Greece, supplying public schools and universities with equipment, Special education programs, experiential workshops, awareness raising campaigns. Being in tune with society’s needs, the Onassis Foundation readjusts on an annual basis it educational planning and enriches the contents of its sponsorships in education, offering access to this fundamental right to as many of our fellow citizens as possible.
